updated for patch 3.3 (by Decimated 12/14/2009)
Comments and acknowledgment post for Raid Requirements

I want to make this post to clarify a few things about some of our goals. As all of you know, we are a casual raiding guild. I want to define what that is.

Casual Raiding:
This esentially means we do not raid as often as a "hardcore" guild, so instead of raiding 5 nights a week for 4 hours a night, we raid 2-3 nights a week, for 3 hours a night. Obviously we won't progress as fast as a hardcore guild, BUT when we are raiding, we expect everybody to be prepared and serious. We have been pretty lax in the past, but we are going to be enforcing some policies.

You must be at the minimum flasked for all guild runs, at least until we have content on farm. I would like to see everybody with food buffs also. We need every advantage we can get, we simply do not raid as often as other guilds. This will be monitored and we WILL call you out if you aren't flasked. You'll then be asked to go to the bank or AH and get a flask. This includes other officers, Hotcha or myself, so nobody is immune to this.

While we are on this topic, you will also be expected to have mana and healing pots, class dependent. If there aren't enough consumables in the guild bank, you'll be responsible for bringing your own. Do not come to the raid as a healer with no mana pots.

There are minimums for performance and they do vary per fight and instance. We use WoW-Heroes.com as a gear check, but that is not the only factor. Load up Recount and hit some target dummies or run some upper level instances to see where your numbers are. You should know what kind of damage or healing you're able to do before you sign up to run.

Do not take offense if we ask to switch you out, it's not personal, you just need to gear up a little more. It is very very easy to get the required gear from high level heroics and badges.

We are not enforcing this next thing per se, but it would be nice to see. If you want to raid, spec into a PvE raiding build. There is a ton of information online for the best PvE specs. There is a reason there are "cookie-cutter" specs, they do the highest dps!

Read up on the boss fights - really. There is a link on the top left of the main page for some of the strats. BossKillers.com is a great site as well. We don't expect you to know what other classes should be doing, but you should have a good idea of what you should be doing before the raid leader explains it. We all screw up on fights the first time, but learn from your mistakes and read up on strats. ALL SUGGESTIONS are welcome whenever we are having a problem. This is one of the awesome things about progression, figuring out strats that work for us, as a guild, and executing them.

All raiders are required to have Omen, Deadly Boss Mods and Vent installed, no exceptions.

The above points are all things we have "required" but actually haven't ever enforced, and it's not really asking a lot - we hope you'll agree that it makes the run better for everyone when everyone is prepared. If you have any issues or think you are being treated unfairly, please just whisper an officer, we are easy to talk to, especially after Hot has a few glasses of wine, Hiooooo.

I would like any potential raider to acknowledge that they have read this by commenting below, any suggestions are welcome.

LOL I was actually just teasing you for taking so long to download DBM We didn't expect anyone who hadn't read this yet to come as prepared as we'd expect after they had.
You're alright, Daranas...you're alllllright

Post subject: Buffs..be prepared to pay for the cost of a Raid..! Posted: Fri Feb 06, 2009 3:47 pm |

Along with all the gear new raiders must attempt to acquire, dont forget the monetary cost of a raid, and be prepared to shell out some G's for your night of torment.
I'm sure all classes are similar, but for a typical semi-geared/buffed Hunter it goes something like this:
Flask of Rage: 50-70G
Food/Drink: 3-6 G
Potions: 6-8G
Ammo: 25G
Repair Bills: 18-25G (Assuming 3-5 wipes)
Total Approx cost of Raid: 100-120G
Pick up an upgrade: Priceless...!
So newer Lvl 80's looking forward to the 25 man raids..forewarned is forearmed.

Well hunters wont have to worry about ammo soon.
Food? We have at least a half-dozen Grandmaster Cooks if you're not one yourself. I know I'm one, Fal, Doc I believe. I'll gladly make you anything you want for the raids, I keep a stash of raw food in my bank. Im low on Rhino meat but I have everything else (no fish)
Flasks - Flasks are always in the guild bank before raids, you're allowed to take what you need for the raid, just dont be greedy and toss a few coin in.
Potions - I havnt bought a Health or Mana potion since like level 35. I regularly have 5-10 Runic health and mana pots, as well as some lower pots, sitting in my bag. if you dont have any, ask the guild. We have alchemists, we have people with spare pots, no need to AH for it unless we dont have any to spare. I know for me, between Mana Totem, Water Shield, and Thunderstorm, I rarely have to chug a mana pot, and with Viper Sting + Rapid Shot, your mana needs probably arent dire (tho I cant say for sure, obviously)
Also, theyre talking of giving Destro locks, Frost mages Replenishment.. so thatll be good

Replenishment would be beautiful, I spec into the exact talent that would provide it too. We definitely do have a lot of consumables in the bank, but we also run out fairly often too, so raiders will want to bring extra, especially on progression nights.

I've Read the Topic and I agree to the requirements.
I do have a minor Question though, I have Omen, But no longer use it Due to I find the Blizzard UI Threat Meter much easier to use as a healer, Especially how my screen is Already full to the brim with add-ons ect, It clears up the room on my screen not running Omen. I will use it during the raids if needed but Would just like if someone would clarify that for me.
Faithwins 80 NE Priest *41/30/00*
2173 Spell Power *Fully Unbuffed*, 20.80% Crit Chance *Holy*, 147 Haste, 825/277 Out/In Regen., 1022 Intel (18913 Mana)
